CARIBBEAN XX

Textile: Made with 100% Jamaican sea island cotton, this collection captures the unique character of our 1947 XX denim, right from the spinning stage. This is a first for the denim industry, a groundbreaking project that combines the world's longest staple cotton with vintage XX denim. This is Series 1. While designers and manufacturers tend to emphasize a strong, assertive character when creating original denim, the AUBERGE team strives for a sophisticated, authentic XX denim. During the warp formation and spinning process, which may appear to be uneven yarns, we incorporate the expected spinning count irregularities from the leather-made yarn outlets of the 1940s into our manufacturing process. This collection captures the subtle authenticity of XX denim.

Design: When wearing XX pants tailored to the waist, they inevitably bulge around the thighs, a familiar look for vintage enthusiasts, but a more modern, lighter, and more streamlined look is key. The outer side has a selvedge, meaning the waist darts are all finished at the side, creating a tuck. Another characteristic of the original 501 is that if the outer side is tweaked too much, vertical wrinkles will form around the crotch, but the CARIB XX has a streamlined finish on both the outer and inner sides. The hem width and other details also incorporate a slight looseness to prevent the pants from looking too sharp.
